First interest shown in photography at age 8, starts beginning of life’s journey with a Kodak Box Brownie by his side.
At 16, purchases first 35mm Pentax camera and months later has work published in Japanese Photographic journal, Pentax Family.
Professional career starts as cadet newspaper photographer, rapidly climbs the ladder to become a senior graded AJA photographer on the Launceston Examiner by age 21.
Develops interest in Wedding Photography, photographs first wedding in 1970.
Ongoing media work as Australian Journalists Association Photographer, media experience includes National Royal Tours, Prime Ministers Tours as well as International Music & Theatre Tours.
Starts own photography business, media clients incl. ANL, North Broken Hill, Aust.Cons. Press, Melbourne Age, Mercedes Benz Aust, Tasmanian Govt.
Wedding work continues to become a defining interest. Meets major life change influence, Perth photographer John Whitfield-King and starts working with the Leica camera system.
Institute of Australian Professional Photography State President, IAPP Federal Delegate and National Merit Award Judge,
IAPP Wedding Award, Hasselblad Masters National Touring Exhibition and Kodak Landscape Award. Moves to the North Coast Byron Bay area.
Nikon Australia Portrait Award, National 2001 winner of the highly regarded Frank Hurley Award. Becomes North Coast and Byron Bay’s most in demand wedding photographer with a reputation for cutting edge imagery, with a continuing commitment to providing his clients with only the best in fine wedding photography. |
